Architectural Design
In order to rehabilitate our community's performance show palace, the historic preservationist and theater architect firm Architects Alliance has been engaged to restore and renovate the Missouri Theatre. The architect's goal is to preserve the theater's historical character but at the same time make changes to ensure the building meets the needs of today's audiences and artists. The project design includes:
- Historically accurate façade restoration
- Historically restored performance auditorium with state-of-the-art sound, lighting and new scenic design shop
- New Columbia Art League Gallery
- Expansive Grand Foyer complete with ADA elevator balcony service
- New Missouri Theatre Lounge on the mezzanine level
- Roof-top reception area
- Expanded modern restroom facilities on ground floor and new second level
- Expanded artist hospitality and dressing room area
- Renovated retail space
- New administrative offices
