Through concerts and educational programs, the Missouri Symphony Society (MOSS) has been bringing the best in classical music to all of mid-Missouri. And since 1970, music lovers like you have supported the mission of MOSS and helped the organization to grow and thrive at the Missouri Theatre. More than 18,000 of you attended the 2008 Hot Summer Nights Music Festival this past June and July and enjoyed the professional Missouri Symphony Orchestra (MSO) under the leadership of Maestro Kirk Trevor in the exquisitely-restored state-of-the-art Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts! (How fortunate we are to have such gems in a community the size of Columbia!)
We are proud to present such artistry, and we are humbled that our community continues to support such artistic expression. It is with that same humility that we ask for your support again.As you know, ticket sales alone can’t sustain the MSO, Hot Summer Nights or the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts.
Through your Circle of Friends membership contribution, you will help to ensure that the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts never sits silent and your Missouri Symphony can continue to produce its annual Hot Summer Nights Music Festival.
Music enriches our lives...
Music education broadens students’ understanding and appreciation of the world around them and aids in intellectual development. Studies have proven students who study music perform better in all other subjects, score better on tests and have higher grade point averages.
Your contribution will not only support the MSO, but also the Missouri Symphony Conservatory which provides quality music education through its Youth Orchestra, Junior Strings, Children’s Chorus and Treblemakers programs. In addition, your support will also benefit the Women’s Symphony League’s annual Piano Student Showcase and the new Crescendo Enrichment Program. By joining our Circle of Friends, you will also be supporting the Missouri Technical Theater Institute (MTTI) by providing technical theater training to local at-risk youth.
A unique gift to be remembered
Pay lasting tribute to someone special by making a donation in their honor or memory. An Honor Gift celebrates an occasion or achievement by recognizing holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Memorial Tributes are powerful expressions of sympathy demonstrating your condolences for another during a time of loss. With an Honor Gift or Memorial Tribute, MOSS will send a personal acknowledgment to the family or individual honored, without reference to the amount of the gift, informing them of your kind gesture to them and the Missouri Symphony. For your tax records, you will receive an acknowledgment letter.
